Built for the Divide

A Larkspur fence isn't a Denver fence.

We've fenced the red rocks of Perry Park, the golf homes at Bear Dance, and the one-acre lots in Sage Port — and the ground up here doesn't forgive shortcuts. Larkspur sits way up high, around 6,700 to 7,000 feet, on the Palmer Divide. The lots are big, treed, and rocky, the wind comes hard off the ridge, and the ground is red rock, clay, and hard granite.

Fences fail here in the same few ways: the wind pushes over a post set too shallow, deer hop a low fence and eat the garden, and a cheap fence leans within a year on rocky, steep ground. We build so yours doesn't do any of those.

  • We dig the posts down deep and set them in concrete, so ridge-top wind and rocky, shifting ground can't lean your fence.
  • Split-rail and ranch fence that marks big acreage and holds horses without blocking your view of the mountains and red rocks.
  • Taller deer fencing to keep the deer out of the garden and young trees — built strong enough that they can't push through it.
  • We find and mark your well and septic first, and check the rules — most lots are no-HOA, but Perry Park may have a committee to sign off.

Built for Larkspur conditions

The details that make a Larkspur fence last.

Most fence failures here trace back to the wind, the rocky ground, or a fence built too low for the deer. We build for all three.

Ridge-top wind

Up high on the Divide the wind comes hard and steady. A post set too shallow leans within a year. We dig the posts down deep and set them in concrete so the wind can't push your fence over.

Rocky, steep ground

Larkspur ground is a mix of red rock, clay, and hard decomposed granite, and the lots are steep and treed. We set each post to solid ground, and step the fence down a slope so it follows the land clean instead of leaving big gaps.

Acreage & deer fencing

Most lots up here are measured in acres. Split-rail and ranch fence marks your land and holds horses; taller deer fencing keeps them out of the garden and young trees. We help you pick the right one and build it to last.

Wells, septic & the rules

Many Larkspur homes are on a well and septic — we find and mark those first, then set the line clear of every buried line. Most lots are no-HOA, but Perry Park may have a committee that signs off first; we check before we start.

What we see in Larkspur yards

The Larkspur fence calls all start to rhyme.

After a few hundred Front Range builds, the requests from up here are predictable in the best way. Odds are yours is on this list — and we've already solved it.

Split-rail & ranch fence on acreage

Out in Perry Park, Bear Dance and toward Spruce Mountain, folks want to mark their land and hold horses without walling off the view. We build split-rail and ranch fence that runs clean across big acreage and stands up to the ridge-top wind.

Deer fencing for the garden

The deer up here will clear a low fence and eat a garden or a row of young trees overnight. We build taller deer fencing, strong enough that they can't push through it, around the part of your lot you want to protect.

Fixing a leaning, wind-blown fence

A fence set too shallow leans hard after a winter of ridge-top wind. We reset the posts down deep in concrete, swap out broken rails, and get the whole run straight and solid again.

Fencing on steep, rocky lots

On the steep lots in Sage Port and Perry Park, a fence has to follow the slope without leaving big gaps at the bottom. We step the fence down the grade and set each post to solid ground in the rock and granite.

Building around well & septic

Most acreage homes up here run on a well and septic. Before we dig a single post hole, we find and mark your well, tank, and leach field — so a new fence never lands on a buried line.

Tearing out & moving an old fence

Sometimes the old fence is in the wrong spot or just worn out. We tear out the old one, haul it off, and build the new one in record time — set deep so it stays straight for years.

“These guys are awesome, we had to tear down and move a fence on our farm property and their crew came out, took down the old fence and built the new one in record time. The new fence is beautiful and even the neighbor is happy with it — and that's saying something with that guy.”

Larkspur fence questions

What homeowners ask us.

Do I need a permit for a fence in Larkspur?
Most acreage fences in Larkspur don't need a permit, but it depends on the height and where it sits. Larkspur is unincorporated Douglas County (303-660-7497), so any rules come from the county, not a town. We check it for you before we start, and if a permit is needed we pull it.
What kind of fence is best for a big Larkspur lot?
For acreage, split-rail and ranch fence is the classic Larkspur look — it marks your land and holds horses without blocking the view. If deer are eating your garden or trees, we build taller deer fencing. We help you pick the right one for your lot.
How do you keep a fence from leaning in Larkspur?
Up on the ridge the wind is strong and the ground is rock, clay, and hard granite. We dig the posts down deep and set them in concrete so the wind and the ground can't push them over. A fence set too shallow up here leans within a year.
I'm on a well and septic — does that matter for a fence?
Yes. Lots of Larkspur acreage homes are on a well and septic. Before we dig a single post hole, we find and mark your well, septic tank, and leach field, then set the line clear of them so a new fence never lands on a buried line.
Does Perry Park have rules I need to follow?
Most Larkspur lots are no-HOA, so you have a lot of freedom. But Perry Park has a committee that may need to sign off on the fence first — they can check the look and where it sits. We find out which rules apply to your lot and handle the paperwork.
Can you repair my old fence instead of replacing it?
Often, yes. If the posts are still solid we can reset the ones that lean, swap out broken rails, and straighten the run. If the whole fence is worn out, we'll tell you straight — sometimes a fresh build set deep is the better value.
