What we build

Shade where the sun is strongest.

At altitude the sun is harder on you and on the wood. A pergola gives you shade and a place to sit — but only if it's built to take our wind and snow. That's how we build ours.

Cedar pergolas

Natural cedar, sealed for our dry air, with the warm wood look most folks picture. Built with heavy beams so it feels solid, not flimsy.

Composite & low-care pergolas

Want to skip the staining? We build in composite and metal that holds its color in the strong sun and never needs sealing.

Shade panels & louvers

Add slats, fabric, or adjustable louvers so you can dial in how much sun comes through — full shade at noon, open sky at sunset.

Privacy walls

A pergola with a side wall blocks the neighbor's view and cuts the wind, so your patio actually feels like a room. Jon designs these to match your house.

Attached or freestanding

We build pergolas off the back of the house over a deck or patio, or as a freestanding shade spot out in the yard — whichever fits your space.

Built to take wind and snow

A pergola catches wind and holds snow. We anchor the posts deep and size the beams for our weather so yours doesn't rack or sag.

Pergolas in your town

We build pergola across the Front Range.

Pick your town to see how we build pergola right there — the soil, the weather, the permits, and the HOA rules are a little different in each one.

Built for Colorado

A pergola has to fight sun, wind, and snow at once. We build it to win.

Up here the sun is strong, the wind is steady, and the snow is heavy. A flimsy kit pergola twists and sags in a season. We over-build ours so it lasts.

Strong altitude sun

The whole point is shade — but the same sun fades cheap wood and finishes fast. We use sealed cedar or color-stable composite so yours still looks good in a few years.

Steady wind

A pergola catches the wind like a sail. We set the posts deep in solid ground and brace the frame so it doesn't rack or lean over time.

Snow on the beams

Slats and louvers catch snow all winter. We size the beams to carry that weight instead of bowing, and angle covers to shed it.

Permits and HOA approval

Many pergolas need a permit, and most HOAs review the size, style, and color. We pull the permit and fill out the design paperwork so yours gets the green light.

Pergolas questions

What homeowners ask us.

What kind of pergolas do you build?
Cedar and composite pergolas, attached and freestanding, with shade slats, louvers, and privacy walls. We're a family-owned crew, and Jon and Janessa Lang are on every job.
Cedar or composite — which should I pick?
Cedar gives you the natural wood look but needs sealing now and then. Composite and metal hold their color in our strong sun and never need staining. We'll walk you through both.
Will a pergola hold up to our wind and snow?
Yes, if it's built right. We set the posts deep, brace the frame, and size the beams for our snow — so it doesn't rack, lean, or sag like a flimsy kit.
Can a pergola give real shade?
Yes. Add closer slats, fabric, or adjustable louvers and you get real shade at midday and open sky at sunset — your choice.
Do I need a permit or HOA approval?
Often, yes. Many towns require a permit and most HOAs review the size, style, and color. We pull the permit and fill out the HOA paperwork for you.
How much does a pergola cost?
It depends on size, material, and whether you add louvers or a privacy wall. You get a free, itemized estimate with every cost laid out — no hidden fees.
