The SE Aurora suburbs sit up around 6,000 feet, on clay that swells up when it gets wet, under strong sun and the hail this part of Colorado is known for. And if your lot backs the golf course or the Aurora Reservoir, the city has its own rules about your fence. Whatever we build for you, we build it for all of that.
The clay under SE Aurora swells up when it gets wet — enough to push a deck or fence post up out of the ground. We dig the posts down deep, about three feet, to solid ground so a wet spring can't lift them.
We size every frame for Aurora snow, and for the way it freezes cold at night and thaws by day. That back-and-forth slowly loosens anything built for warmer places.
The Front Range sits in what folks call Hail Alley, and the sun up here is hard on cheap boards. We use tougher boards and siding and build covered patios for folks who are tired of fixing the damage.
The City of Aurora runs its own building office (303-739-7420) and permits the whole city — not the county. Your HOA has to say yes first. And on golf or reservoir lots, the city wants an open iron view fence with brick columns. We handle all of it.

In Blackstone, Southshore and Beacon Point, lots that back the golf course or the Aurora Reservoir can't have a tall solid fence. The city wants an open iron-style fence with brick columns so the view stays open. We build that fence to match the city and your HOA.
The SE Aurora suburbs are full of walkout lots, where the main floor sits a full story above the backyard. We build decks that step down, level by level, to the yard — not one tall deck with a long flight of stairs.
If you've patched a deck or a roof after a storm, you're not alone out here. We build covered patios and pergolas so you get shade in the summer and a roof over your head when the hail comes.
On the higher lots in Tallyn's Reach and over by the reservoir, you can see the Front Range and even Pikes Peak. We use thin cable or metal railing so the railing almost disappears — and the view doesn't.
In Aurora, your HOA has to approve the plans, materials and colors before the city will permit. Southshore even tells you which fence stain to use. We've done that paperwork before and handle it for you.
