Castle Rock, CO · Family-owned
Shops, sheds, storage and barns built for Castle Rock — heavy snow, clay ground, and the bigger lots out on acreage. Built by Jon & Janessa Lang.
Built for the Rock
We build shops, sheds, storage buildings and barns out on the bigger lots — from the acreage in Bell Mountain Ranch to Keene Ranch. Up here at about 6,200 feet the snow is heavy and the ground is tricky clay, and a barn built for a warmer place doesn't last.
Pole barns fail here in the same few ways: the snow load bows a roof that wasn't sized for it, the clay heaves and leans posts that weren't set deep, and a skipped permit holds up the whole job. We build so yours doesn't do any of those.
“These guys are awesome! We have a real estate company and several investment properties. We use them personally and refer them out to our clients for decks, fences, barns and sheds. Always willing to do what it takes, on time and enthusiastic.”

Most pole barn problems here trace back to the snow, the ground, or a skipped permit. We build for all three.
The roof on a pole barn has to carry a lot of snow up here. We size the posts, beams and roof for Colorado snow load, so a big winter doesn't bow the roof or push the building out of square.
The clay under Castle Rock swells up when it gets wet, and that can heave or lean a post that wasn't set right. We set the posts deep, down past the clay to solid ground, so a wet spring can't shift the barn.
Out on the bigger lots, like Bell Mountain Ranch and Keene Ranch, the wind comes right off the open space. We brace and anchor the building so it stands solid through the big gusts up here.
A shop or barn needs a permit. In town we pull it online through Castle Rock's building office. Out on acreage like Bell Mountain Ranch or Keene Ranch, it's a Douglas County permit instead. We handle whichever one your lot needs.
“The inspector was impressed by their system and mentioned this build is built to withstand a hurricane.”
Dominic ValenzuelaWhat we see in Castle Rock
After a few hundred Front Range builds, the requests from this town are predictable in the best way. Odds are yours is on this list — and we've already solved it.
Lots of folks want a real shop — room to work on a project, store tools, and stay warm in winter. We build pole-barn shops sized for what you do, with the roof built to carry our snow.
RVs, boats, trailers, mowers and tractors all need a home out of the sun and hail. We build tall, wide storage barns so everything fits under one roof instead of out in the weather.
Out on the bigger lots like Bell Mountain Ranch and Keene Ranch, the permit goes through Douglas County and the buildings are big. We build barns for animals, hay and equipment, sized for the room you have.
Castle Rock gets some of the worst hail anywhere. A pole barn gets your truck, RV and gear under a solid roof, so the next big storm isn't another round of dents and repairs.
Sometimes you just need a covered spot off the barn for the tractor or wood. We add lean-tos and open bays onto the building, braced for our wind and snow, so they hold up like the rest.
Because we build siding too, we can wrap the barn to match the house — same color and trim — so it looks like it belongs on the property, not like a metal box dropped in the yard.
